I just read on another website that Sharon Tate was nominated for an Emmy. Is that true? I remember seeing her on the Beverly Hillbillies but I thought that was her only television appearance. They said that Debra Tate said she was nominated for an Academy Award but that she was nominated for an Emmy.

 

Webmaster Note: No, that's not true. Sharon Tate was nominated for a Golden Globe, not an Emmy OR Academy Award. She did have a reoccurring part on the Beverly Hillbillies as Janet Trego, as well as some guest parts on Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mister Ed and Petticoat Junction, but she was not nominated for an Emmy for any of her TV appearances.
Her Golden Globe nomination was for her part in the film Valley of the Dolls.
In an interview with Fox News and for a documentary shown on the ID channel, Debra did mistakenly say that Sharon was nominated for an Academy Award. We corrected that in our news update from March 17th. However, the documentary shown on the ID channel was filmed before this so the error was repeated.
I guess in their rush to correct Debra the website made a mistake of their own. It happens.

 

Dear Ms. Tate,

When the news came out about an upcoming dig at Barker Ranch I began researching the Manson murders online. That's when I found your site and others that taught me what a lovely person your sister Sharon was. I'm 57 years old, a born again Christian, and I just wanted to offer a comment about the fish symbol with Charles Watson's name on it in a letter to "Michael." I believe my first impression of it: he simply made a letterhead that emphasized he is still a follower of Jesus, still in the body of Christ (i.e., a member of all Christian believers), no matter what has happened in his life since he became born again. It occurred to me later that perhaps you believe it's a message that he thinks Charles Manson is Jesus. I don't know. I believe the family members were controlled by fear of Manson as much as by brainwashing and drugs, though, and that makes me question the measure of his influence now.
 
I'd like to add a few more things, if you can bear with me. I believe, like you do, that these individuals who participated in the murders should never be released. I'm disgusted that one of them was. I also believe, however, in Susan Atkins' conversion. Her book, Child of Satan--Child of God, came out shortly after I became born again. It did bless me and probably has blessed many others. Thank God for conquering evil, whenever and wherever. I hope Charles Watson is saved, too. I saw his site. Two things I know: 1) God does a marvelous work in us and gives the desire to change. 2) We are still ourselves with free will and weaknesses. Hence, the term "backsliding." How can anyone expect these people to go safely from a protective situation, where they've spent most of their lives, back into the pressures of the world where they've had no prior positive experience of functioning on their own? Finally, in terms of justice, I believe they owe full punishment for the crimes that they committed, "a life for a life" in prison.

Hello my name is ____ ______i was born in 1970 and remember the talk about the murders and the trials all while i was growing up and remember how BEAUTIFUL Sharon was and couldnt imagine how anyone could do such viciousness against other human beings. The other day i was watching the ID channel and saw the special on Sharon and it is so sad,even almost 40yrs later. So i went online to see if i could find a nice Sharon wallpaper for my computer and ran across the disturbing coroner photos and couldn't even look at them. Please keep me updated on upcoming trials and let me know what i can do to help keep them locked away forever! Sharon may be gone but she will never be forgotten

I would just like to say that the actress SHARON TATE was and still is the best looking of all women, of all time.
 
Is there any FAN CLUB around within the USA and the UK ?
 
I also think that Debra Tate is doing a excellent job of keeping her memories alive, and I personally think that THE FAMILY should rot in hell, what they did to your family and the other victims.

Dear Debra Tate,

I have a feeling you are probably bombarded with numerous emails, so I'll keep it brief.

Just wanted to say my heart goes out to you and your family for the terrible ordeal that you went through and probably continue to go through in some way. I know that whenever I see any movie with your sister I get angry thinking about those people and how they robbed you, your family, and everyone of such a wonderful person. Although, I don't know any of you personally of course, I just feel the world lost someone wonderful and it is a sadder place because of your loss.

Sharon will always be with us. We love sharon, we will never let them get away what they did. I will  aways support your family. Sharon was a such a true, beautiful person and we will keep those people locked up. I am a grandmother and I always supported your mother.
